Seungho Moon
Professor, School of Education
Dr. Seungho Moon is Professor of Education at Loyola University Chicago. He interrogates the construction, (re)production, and resistance of knowledge in schools, universities, and communities. Working across theology, aesthetics, philosophy, and education, Dr. Moon advances interdisciplinary approaches that illuminate how power/knowledge and discourse shape curriculum and lived experience. His passion encompasses indigenous ways of knowing; apophatic theology/epistemology; the role of aesthetic experience in education and theology; and postcolonial Catholic conversations. Through community-engaged, justice-oriented inquiry, Moon designs arts-based pedagogies and critical frameworks that challenge hegemonic norms while cultivating belonging, ethical/political imagination, and civic responsibility. His book, The Flows of Transnationalism (Routledge, 2022) received an outstanding book award from The Society of Professor of Education.
