Arsalan Yaghoubi
Ph.D. Student
Graduate Research Assistant
Arsalan is a PhD student in Computer Science at Loyola University Chicago, working in the Health AI Lab directed by Prof. Dmitriy Dligach. His research focuses on AI assistant agents for clinical environments, with current projects in clinical trial recruitment and patient education, in collaboration with top-tier institutions including Harvard Medical School, and Mass General Hospital.
His background spans Computer Science and Computational Linguistics. His Master's work on emotion-aware conversational AI pushed him toward questions about adaptability and safety in AI systems, questions that have stayed central to his research since. Before starting his PhD, he worked as a Data Scientist at a legal tech startup, building and deploying AI agents for legal applications. That experience gave him a grounded sense of what production AI actually demands, and it shows in how he approaches research problems.
His work keeps coming back to one question: how do you build AI agents that are genuinely trustworthy in settings where the cost of failure is real?
Arsalan welcomes conversations with researchers and practitioners working at the intersection of AI, healthcare, and clinical safety.
