Adjunct Instructors

Aleja Sastoque serves as the Assistant Director of Campus Ministry for Faith Communities at Loyola University Chicago. In this role, she coordinates the Christian Life Community (CLC) Program, providing formation and leadership for student retreats at the Lake Shore Campus and overseeing Campus Ministry programs at the Water Tower Campus. She also teaches Ignatian spirituality and young adult ministry in the IPS program, contributing to the formation of students through the Jesuit tradition of discernment and accompaniment.

Aleja earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in her native Colombia and completed Master’s degrees in Divinity and Pastoral Counseling at Loyola University Chicago, where she is currently pursuing a PhD in Ethics. Her academic and ministerial work is shaped by a strong commitment to vocational discernment, particularly among youth and young adults.
In addition to her work at Loyola, Aleja is actively involved in parish-based youth and young adult ministry at St. Mark’s Parish in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and volunteers at a shelter serving women who have experienced domestic violence. Her pastoral approach emphasizes attentive listening, discernment, and accompaniment, attending carefully to the unique needs and contexts of each individual.

Aleja is bilingual and fluent in Spanish. Her broader interests include intercultural learning through travel, physical activity and sports, and Latin American dance, which support her holistic approach to ministry and formation. She also values time spent in community with family and friends.
