Abby Mensing

Abby Mensing has been a member of the International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) team since 2022, first as the International Scholar Coordinator and now as the Assistant Director. She works closely with hiring units, Faculty Administration, HR, and Loyola faculty and staff who require visa sponsorship to determine the most appropriate visa category and handles all in-house processing for the J-1 scholar population for all three-campuses. Additionally, she supports the J-1 Student Exchange Resource Center and, when needed, provides advising assistance to both the F-1 and J-1 international student population. Before joining ISSS, Ms. Mensing had served as an international student advisor, supporting F-1 students from pre-arrival through graduation, at both the University of Houston-Downtown and Louisiana State University. While at LSU, she also began her work with employment-based petitions for green card sponsorship. Ms. Mensing earned a BA from Lawrence University and an MFS from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Abby has traveled in South-East Asia, Western Europe and Brazil. When not traveling, she bakes and enjoys exploring Chicago.
