What drew you to become involved with this project?

As someone with a passion for journalism and the environment, I find it extremely important to accurately and accessibly communicate scientific information to the public. Journalism and science are not always so easily united, though. Many aspects of this program focus on bridging that gap in science communication, which was exciting to me. Another aspect of the program that called to me was the fact I'd be able to work with the ETHOS students. Working as a summer camp counselor for the past nine years has allowed me to not only become skilled at working with children, but also to recognize how rewarding it can be. Interacting with the students has definitely been the best part of this experience so far.
