Aidan Segura

"This will be one of the most eye-opening programs you will ever experience."

Last year, as a student with the DANA Program for Neuroscience & Society, Senn High School  student Aidan Segura participated in after-school workshops, the summer ETHOS program and Neuroscience and Society Day.

Segura considers the most valuable lesson he learned during the ETHOS experience to be that neuroscience is completely different than what he initially thought. He said he learned the work that goes into the field of neuroscience is more about collaboration than anything else.

Although he learned a lot throughout his time in ETHOS, Segura said watching his peers’ presentations at the end of the year was an experience that especially stood out to him.

“Seeing what everyone did really shows just how spread out and vast this field is,” Segura said. “There are probably portions just waiting for someone to discover and build upon them.”

When explaining why others should enroll in the program, in addition to looking great on academic records and resumes, Segura said, “This will be one of the most eye-opening programs you will ever experience, and be the first step towards a college path.”

In the Fall, Segura will attend DePaul University.
