Associate Dean of Innovative Partnerships and Faculty Practice
Dr. Melissa Carlucci joined Loyola University Chicago Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing in 2025 as Associate Dean for Innovative Partnerships and Faculty Practice. Prior to Loyola, she was a 15-year faculty member at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Nursing and held leadership roles as Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) Specialty Director and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program Director. She has expertise in curriculum design and led a comprehensive revision of the DNP curriculum, in addition to advancing nurse practitioner specialty curricula to strengthen readiness for practice. Dr. Carlucci brings significant clinical practice experience to her faculty role, and is an expert in integrating faculty practice, clinical scholarship, and excellence in nursing education. She also has a special interest in mentorship and professional role development.
Dr. Carlucci is a board certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) with more than a decade of clinical practice experience. Her practice focus is managing sleep-disordered breathing in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. She is committed to advancing the nurse practitioner role and promoting interprofessional collaboration to improve patient outcomes. The national impact of her clinical work has been recognized by induction as a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP) and as a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP).
