Susan Grayson, PhD, MPH, RN

Dr. Susan Grayson is an Assistant Professor at the Loyola University Chicago Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing. She received her PhD at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing as well as an MPH for the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and was a Cancer Prevention Fellow at the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Grayson's research interests lie in the intersection of cancer biology and symptoms. Her dissertation research, entitled "Psychoneurological Symptoms and their Association with Markers of Genomic Instability from Circulating Tumor DNA in Metastatic Breast Cancer" used liquid biopsy technology to examine the relationship between breast cancer genomic changes and symptoms experienced by individuals with breast cancer.

Research Interests

Dr. Grayson's research focuses on the underpinnings of psychoneurological symptoms in cancer, with specific interest in links to both cancer genomics and social determinants of health.
