Gregory Burke

Assistant Professor of Accounting and Business Law

Gregory Burke is an assistant professor at the Quinlan School of Business at Loyola University Chicago and is also a board member of the Crowdfunding Professional Association (CfPA). He earned his Ph.D. in accounting from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, which included a two-year visiting appointment at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. His research focuses on financial accounting, with specific interests in securities regulation and enforcement, financial reporting and disclosure, entrepreneurial finance, and corporate governance. It has also been discussed with the SEC staff and Commissioners, as well as featured in the Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance and the Oxford Business Law Blog.

He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in financial accounting, managerial accounting, and mathematics, and has instructed professionals at PwC and at a start-up incubator.

Before pursuing graduate studies, he taught at Fairfield University and worked as an auditor for PwC in Boston, focusing on asset management and employee benefit plans. He also served as a year-long volunteer in Ecuador.

Outside of academia, he enjoys outdoor activities, home improvement projects, and spending time with family and friends.
