Adjunct Instructor

Jamie Born is an award-winning public relations strategist and integrated marketing expert who advises leadership teams through growth, transformation, and public sale. Known for performing under pressure and earning trust quickly, she has built a career across agency, association, and consulting roles.

She was instrumental in launching the Small Business Lending Index, which earned a co-branded partnership with Thomson Reuters, sustained national media coverage, and contributed to congressional testimony. Jamie has led visibility strategies for large-scale events and national award galas, working front and center with Martha Stewart, Ted Turner, and Gary Sinise, while managing red carpets and high-profile programs.
Previously, Jamie directed public relations for the American Marketing Association and served on the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Chicago Board of Directors (2022–2024).
Jamie holds a degree from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and is a frequent speaker and guest lecturer.
Outside of consulting and teaching, Jamie enjoys volunteering her expertise to charitable organizations and can often be found on the sidelines with her husband, cheering on their three sons at lacrosse games.
