Certified as a Master Online Teacher, Broadcast Radio Operator and Radio Marketing Professional. Decades of experience in commercial, public and community radio, and broadcast and cable TV. 36-year veteran of the Illinois Army National Guard and U.S. Army, serving as Commander of the 139th Public Affairs Detachment, Instructor for the Defense Information School, and Public Affairs Assistant to the Secretary of the Army. Past Coordinator for the Illinois Broadcasters Multicultural Internship Program and IBA Board member. Decades of teaching and training experience, holding an Illinois Teaching License for Career and Technical Education in Communications and Media.

I was honored to be awarded the 2020 Illinois Higher Educator of the Year award by my peers, for my work with the state broadcasters multicultural internship program, and for facilitating the transition to online learning for the 3-million members of the National Education Association during the COVID-10 Pandemic.
