Noah Banasiewicz, SJ

Instructor


Before entering the Society of Jesus, Noah Banasiewicz, SJ studied accounting at Loyola University Chicago and now serves as an instructor of human communication and digital media in the School of Communication. As a Jesuit, he has studied and ministered in St. Paul, MN; Omaha, NE; St. Louis, MO; The Bronx, NY; and Quetzaltenango, Guatemala.

Most recently, Banasiewicz worked at America Media, the Jesuit publication based in Manhattan. While at America, Banasiewicz assisted in pre-production of the “Jesuitical” podcast and contributed to the publication’s reporting during the 2024 presidential election, the global Synod on Synodality, the death of Pope Francis, and the conclave that elected Pope Leo XIV.

His research centers on how the use of digital platforms shapes religious belief, behavior, and belonging online, with a particular focus on the rise in religious disaffiliation and how religious figures and institutions employ digital strategies to engage with these individuals.
