David's clinical experience and theoretical interests include cognitive-behavioral, strengths-based, insight-oriented, values-based, and trauma-informed approaches in working with students. David also incorporates principles of DBT into his work, especially in terms of interpersonal effectiveness and emotion regulation. David strives to establish and build collaborative and respectful therapeutic relationships that strive to draw from the client's learned experiences to help them navigate life's struggles. David highly values incorporating humor into the therapeutic relationship, as laughter in and of itself can be a powerful coping mechanism.
In his spare time, he enjoys long walks in his neighborhood, practicing yoga, cuddling with his dog, and trying new slow-cooker recipes.
