Libby Shortenhaus, MA

Director of Development

What clubs and/or organizations are you involved in and what do you do?

I work to build the Arrupe donor community, connecting people with an affinity for our mission with opportunities to use their financial capacity to make a meaningful difference in reducing inequities to college access. I am also a member of Arrupe's Undocumented Student Support Committee.

What attracted you to Arrupe College?

I was attracted to Arrupe College because it provides a real solution to improving college access and equity as well as a replicable model that other universities can follow and have followed.

How did you get involved in fundraising?

I got involved in fundraising because I believe we all have different parts to play in addressing injustice and making the world a better place. I find great joy in connecting those with financial resources and a passion to see change to missions like Arrupe College.

What is your favorite aspect about working at Arrupe? Biggest challenge?

My favorite part of working at Arrupe is the community, warmth, and sense of belonging that is present in all we do. The biggest challenge is knowing that there are so many more students who could benefit from a similar learning community.
