Sam Rodriguez

Born and raised on Chicago’s Southwest side, Samuel “Sam” Rodriguez is passionate about strengthening communities and creating opportunities for the next generation. A Posse Foundation scholar, he attended Oberlin College, earning a degree in Sociology.

Sam began his career at Big Shoulders Fund, a Chicago nonprofit dedicated to supporting schools, with demonstrated need, serving children in Chicago and Northwest Indiana. He started as a Development and Events Coordinator, eventually focusing on volunteer management and briefly working in major gifts.

Today, Sam serves on the Foundation & Community Impact team at Ernst & Young (EY), where he oversees volunteerism across the Great Lakes region. His work is driven by a deep commitment to giving back, inspired by the many organizations that have supported his own journey.

Civically, Sam serves on the Posse National Alumni Advisory Council (PNAAC) where he works to ensure engagement and connection within the alumni community and supports efforts alongside the Chicago Advisory Council. He is also a member of Social Responsibility Chicago (SRC), an organization dedicated to accelerating positive change in Chicagoland by providing purposeful, inclusive, and relevant resources that inspire ideas and new possibilities for social impact.

Outside of work, Sam resides on Chicago’s Northwest Side with his wife, Molly, and their sheepadoodle, Roxy. He enjoys staying active, especially playing soccer in his free time.
