Undergraduate research
LUROP: The Loyola Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (LUROP) is the umbrella under which all funded undergraduate research programs offered at Loyola University Chicago are centralized. The goal of LUROP is to enrich, enhance, diversify, and individualize the learning experiences of undergraduate students. Each program is unique, providing students from any school or department with the opportunity to conduct research in their area of interest. For more information, please visit the LUROP website.
Fellowships: The Fellowship Office assists Loyola undergraduates and recent alumni to apply for national and international fellowships and scholarships, which commonly provide funding for graduate school or study and research overseas. Get more information at www.luc.edu/
Mulcahy Scholars Program: This program offers students the opportunity to work closely with faculty on projects of scholarly significance that reflect the diversity of academic activity throughout the College of Arts and Sciences. The program accepts applications from students in CAS majoring in the hard sciences. Each recipient of a Mulcahy Scholarship receives a stipend of $1,000, and is eligible to receive up to $1,000 in project support. Ricci Scholars: The Ricci Scholars program is an innovative research and cultural immersion program organized around the theme of the meeting of East and West. It provides unparalleled opportunities for students to connect study abroad, experiential learning, and firsthand international research experience. The program provides round-trip airfare, research funds, and mentorship. Students spend their junior year studying and conducting cross-cultural research at Loyola's Rome Center for the fall semester, followed by a destination in East Asia for the spring semester. The two Ricci Seminars, UNIV 301 and UNIV 302, fulfill Engaged Learning (EL) and Writing Intensive (WI) requirements. Applications are in the fall of Sophomore year.
