Thanksgiving Initiatives 2025

Dear Loyola HSC Community,

As autumn arrives and we prepare to celebrate Ignatian Heritage Month throughout November, we once again activate to support individuals and families in Maywood and the surrounding Proviso community through collective contributions to the Quinn Center's Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. The Quinn Center offers year-round, comprehensive services, programs, and resources to hundreds of local families. They are a valued partner in our shared mission of holistic health and healing in our community!

How are we asked to help? By connecting with your colleagues, student organizations, course small groups, friends, or family to discuss how you will contribute.

1. Volunteer at Quinn

Sign up individually or with a group, department, or your family. Volunteers are needed to prepare the boxes of donated items and to distribute the boxes to families before Thanksgiving. Please sign up here. Volunteers are needed from Nov. 2 – Nov. 25.

2. Donate
  • Amazon Wish List (delivered directly to Quinn)
  • Online monetary donations
  • Purchase food items and bring to the Quinn Center in person. Donors are kindly asked to bring only items on this requested items list (see below).
  • Purchase $10 gift cards for Target, Walmart, Aldi, or Dollar Tree

How to drop off donations at the Quinn Center

  • Gift cards/money can be placed in the drop box outside door #1 (on Lexington) anytime.
  • Ring the bell at door #3 between 12pm-6pm Monday through Thursday to drop off food.

Again, please note the donation deadline of Wednesday, November 19 at 7PM! This greatly helps them plan and ensure everyone in need can be served.

Thank you for all of your past and ongoing support of our neighbors and community! Please share with HSC Ministry how you and your department/classmates/colleagues plan to support Quinn this year!
