Loyola University Chicago Jesuits: Think Globally, Act Locally

170 years in Chicago: Handing on Nearly Five Centuries of Jesuit Heritage

Ignatius House is the permanent residence for members of the Loyola University Chicago Jesuit Community. Jesuits engage the school in various ways: some as university faculty, administrators, and chaplains; others (including those from abroad) as students pursuing  graduate degrees. All assist works of the Archdiocese of Chicago. With a view to hospitality, the residence’s spacious dining area accommodates large gatherings of guests for special occasions; and a chapel regularly welcomes student religious services. A steady stream of Jesuits visiting from around the world fosters a global atmosphere.
