Julián P. Díaz is an associate professor in the Department of Economics at the Quinlan School of Business. His research and teaching interests are in the fields of international trade, international macroeconomics, and Latin American economics. He received his BSc from Escuela Politécnica del Litoral, his MSc from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, and his MA and PhD in economics from the University of Minnesota.

Founding Director
Doug Evanoff
Douglas Evanoff, former VP and senior financial economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, served as the Founding Director of the Kaufman Center. A renowned expert in the fields of financial institutions and intermediation, financial markets, and regulation, Evanoff was Professor George G. Kaufman’s long-time collaborator at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. After leading the Kaufman Center for three years, Evanoff retired in July 2025.
