All students must review the Technology Roadmap prior to their orientation session so they can gain access to their Loyola email, LOCUS account (where students enroll in courses, view and process financial aid information, etc.), and more. Critical orientation and class registration information will be sent to your Loyola email, so please be sure to complete this process as early as possible.

All incoming students must register for an Orientation session. Registration for Orientation opens on Wednesday, May 6th, 2026. Please look above this checklist for a list of our dates. You can register in your admitted student portal here. 

1. Students can keep an eye out for an important introduction email for class registration on May 8.
2. Students can sign up for an Academic Advising appointment through our appointment system, Navigate. Academic advising appointments for new first-year students will begin on May 11. 
3. Send any final college transcripts that you may have from college or dual enrollment courses you took in high school (will not apply to all students). 
4. Send AP/IB/CLEP scores or make sure you add Loyola to any pending scores.

Placement Testing requirements will be provided within your admitted student portal. The deadline for placement testing for Fall 2026 students will be announced soon.

All students are required to have an official Loyola ID card in order to access to campus buildings and cafeterias.  

Students have the option to submit a photo of themselves ahead of time. Submitting your photo now means that Campus Card can print your ID and have it ready for pickup at the end of your orientation. So, please take the time now to submit your ID photo online today! 

Submitting a photo is not a requirement, however if you do not submit a photo, you will need to take your photo at your orientation check-in. If you are unable to access your Online Card Office account, we recommend this option. You will still get your ID the following day at the end of the orientation. You can submit your ID photo ahead of time at this link here.  

Photo ID Requirements:  

1. Image must be in .jpg format 
2. Image must be 1 x 1.38 aspect ratio (approximately 127 pixels wide by 176 pixels tall) 
3. Image must not exceed 1 MB 
4. Image must be of good quality 
5. Image must be in full color 
6. Image must not have borders 
7. Image must clearly identify the specific cardholder, and be front-facing 
8. Image must contain the cardholder ONLY (no other people or objects) 
9. Image should display full head: centered, from just below shoulders to just above head 
10. Cardholder should be looking straight ahead (not down, not angled/tilted head) 
11. No side profiles 
12. Image should have bright, even lighting 
13. Eyes open and visible (prescription glasses only, no tinted lenses) 
14. Religious head coverings only 
15. No obstruction to view of cardholder’s face 
16. Image background should be solid white or blue (example: towel or bedsheet) 
17. Image submitted must not be copyrighted

Submit your housing application by the priority deadline of May 1. Access the housing application via the Residence Life Portal found on the Residence Life website. When applying, be sure to consider joining one of our eight Living Learning Communities!

Students with disabilities are invited to connect with the Student Accessibility Center (SAC) early to engage in the interactive process for evaluating students' needs for accommodations at Loyola. Students can apply with the SAC for academic and residential life accommodations as soon as they decide they are coming to Loyola. Access the housing accommodation request form here and submit by May 6.
