Master of Arts in Public Service Leadership

Blending interdisciplinary knowledge with a solutions-oriented mindset and a concrete mission to address pressing societal issues, the Master of Arts in Public Service Leadership (MAPSL) program at SCPS prepares individuals to be confident, steady, and motivated agents of change in their communities.

The forward-thinking program broadens the traditional lens of public service. It sheds conventional thinking of public service as the sole domain of the government and empowers students to think in terms of services to the public, which can be delivered by a nonprofit organization, a corporation, or a public-private partnership.

As an online program, MAPSL attracts students from around the U.S. and across various industries, including law enforcement and social services as well as career changers interested in public service and human services. With courses covering topics such as leadership and ethics, data collection, program evaluation, and service to vulnerable populations, MAPSL develops collaborative, humanistic leaders capable of identifying problems and crafting thoughtful solutions to enhance lives and uplift communities locally, nationally, and even globally.
