Sports Media
Chicago is one of the most exciting sports cities in the world. With eight major league sports teams, four primary world-class venues, and multiple sports and media organizations, it’s the perfect place to launch a career in this field.
The BA in Sports Media prepares students to create compelling content across television, radio, digital, and social platforms while exploring the powerful role sports play in culture and society. Blending media and communication studies with specialized coursework in sports broadcasting and business, this major produces ethical, industry-ready storytellers, producers, and strategists equipped to succeed in today’s global sports industry. Students can build experience in a city with a rich sports culture, a wide range of professional and community sports organizations, and strong possibilities for internships, networking, and career exploration.

Loyola also offers other unique opportunities for hands-on experience. Students are guaranteed work with Loyola’s Athletics department to assist with its media and marketing operations. Students can also gain practical experience through the Rambler Sports Locker, a student-run broadcast.
Loyola also has a robust network of alumni and professionals working across sports media and communications, including Lou Canellis, NBC 5 Chicago sports anchor, and Shams Charania, ESPN Senior NBA Insider, among many others.
