Gastroenterology Interest Group
Gastroenterology Interest Group
The Gastroenterology Interest Group (GIIG) serves to educate students of the Stritch School of Medicine about the field of gastroenterology and its many subspecialties. This includes exploring digestive health, gut and liver diseases, the gut microbiome, and nutritional science through panel discussions, physician shadowing, research and mentorship, and networking events.
By joining GIIG, students can expect to gain a comprehensive understanding of the field, develop useful skills, and build valuable professional connections. Students will gain unique insights through early exposure to the field through both virtual and direct interactions with physicians, researchers, dieticians, and other GI faculty at Loyola Medicine as well as other institutions throughout Chicago.
Our aim is to inspire and equip the next generation of gastroenterologists with the knowledge and passion to advance digestive health care.
