The Assessment Cycle
The Assessment Cycle
An iterative process
The assessment cycle describes Loyola University Chicago's approach to direct, course-embedded assessment of program learning outcomes (PLOs). Five steps of the cycle include developing or revising PLOs, mapping PLOs to the program's curriculum, identifying and/or designing embedded assessment strategies, gathering data and analyzing it, and using the data you have collected to reflect on students' learning in the program and take action on what you have learned.
