Part-Time/Adjunct Faculty Stipend and Benefits

Rates are effective for January 1,2026-December 31, 2026

The IL Pay Transparency Law went into effect on January 1, 2025, which requires employers with at least 15 employees to post salary and benefit information in job postings. In accordance with this law, part-time faculty stipends for each College/School are provided below. The stipend amounts reflect the total compensation per course. Per the Adjunct Faculty and the Affordable Care Act, part-time faculty may not teach more than 6 credit hours per semester and no more than 18 credits per calendar year. Part-time faculty are paid the following stipends per course during the Fall and Spring semesters (J-term and Summer term stipends are specified in the CBA).The stipend amounts reflect the total compensation per course. Per the Adjunct Faculty and the Affordable Care Act Guidelines, part-time faculty may not teach more that 6 credit hours per semester and no more than 18 credits per calendar year. 

Please note that the CAS rates are based on the agreed upon terms delineated in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Any internship course exceeds 3 credits, the payment will be capped at 3 credit hours

Part-time faculty stipends in the SOE are prorated based on student enrollment. For graduate courses, the minimum enrollment required to reach the maximum credit is 6 students; for undergraduate courses, it is 10 students. Courses with enrollments below these thresholds will have stipends prorated according to the assigned credit and actual enrollment.
