The Loyola University Chicago community mourns the loss of Mark Law, associate director of graduate programs in the Quinlan School of Business, who passed away on January 13, 2026.

Mark joined Quinlan in 2005 as an office assistant before becoming a member of the graduate advising team and rising to associate director. For 20 years, he was a calm and caring presence at Quinlan and a constant support for MBA students. He had a great memory and would greet students and colleagues by name whenever he saw them. Mark was also an alumnus, earning his own MBA from Quinlan in 2014.

Mark’s impact was felt well beyond the business school, as he worked with many faculty and staff across the entire University in service to students. He is remembered by colleagues for being a great listener with a big heart and for his passion for music and organ playing. Outside of Loyola, he served as the organist and choir director at St. Paul's Church by-the-Lake in Rogers Park.

A memorial service for Mark will be held Sunday, February 15, at 5:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Church by-the-Lake, 7100 N. Ashland in Chicago. The funeral has not yet been finalized.

Please keep Mark’s family and friends, the Quinlan community, and all of the lives he touched in your thoughts and prayers.
