Brigette Petersen, MEd

Senior Associate Director, Employer Operations & Communications


Brigette leads a team within Career Services that creates communications and special event pathways for recruiters to connect with students and alumni of Loyola. She supports various communications and networking channels and programs at the University, including 'The Kettle' student newsletter and LoyolaLinked, the University's networking and mentorship platform.  
Previously, she served Loyola as a career advisor, clinical supervisor and instructor. She also helped grow and manage the University's first mentoring platform, LUConnect, and created the University's unique model for its current platform: LoyolaLinked. Brigette has been recognized by her division with the 'Innovator' Award and by the AJCU for her work bringing visibility to marginalized identities in student career development.
Prior to her work at Loyola, she was a senior manager in public relations where she led strategic communications initiatives for Fortune 500 companies and high-profile nonprofit organizations. She managed crisis communications for several clients and secured positive media coverage in national outlets, including: USA Today, TIME Magazine, NBC's The Today Show, and others. 
Brigette holds a master’s degree in education in counseling psychology from Springfield College and an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Notre Dame. In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor sports, travel and spending time with her family of four plus Felix, the family dog.
