Students
Suppose you have participated in undergraduate research or community engagement projects through LUROP fellowships, external programs, service-learning experiences, internships, community partnerships, independent study, and academic courses during the academic year. In that case, you are eligible to participate in the Symposium. Each year, we celebrate the diverse and exciting ways undergraduate students advance Loyola’s Jesuit mission of “expanding knowledge in service to humanity through learning, justice, and faith.” Please consider sharing your undergraduate research and/or community engagement projects as part of the Undergraduate Research & Engagement Symposium.
Registration for the 2026 Undergraduate Research and Engagement Symposium is now CLOSED.
Faculty, Staff, and Community Partners
The annual Undergraduate Research & Engagement Symposium is our premier student event of the year, with hundreds of students presenting their research and/or community engagement work. Please visit Loyola's eCommons at ecommons.luc.edu/ures to learn, support, and connect!
Encourage Your Students to Participate
We encourage faculty and staff to invite your students from both the fall and spring semesters to participate in the Undergraduate Research & Engagement Symposium and/or include the symposium on your syllabi. Students who engaged in undergraduate research or community engagement projects through LUROP fellowships, external programs, service-learning experiences, internships, community partnerships, independent study, and academic courses during the current academic year are eligible to participate. Find out more about nominating a community partner on our Awards Page.
Nominate a Student
Each year, we are pleased to present a variety of awards that honor undergraduate student scholarship in community engagement and research. If you have worked with an outstanding undergraduate student or group of students this year, please consider nominating them for an award. Each award comes with a $500 prize! You can find out more on our Awards Page.
Nominate a Community Partner
We are especially excited to announce our Community Partner Award for Co-education. This award is given to a non-profit community organization who hosted one or more undergraduate Engaged Learning students since Spring 2020 and who best exemplifies the role of a community partner who co-educates and supports our Loyola students. This award includes a $500 prize to support the work of the organization! You can find out more on our Awards Page.
- Community partners: Consider nominating your organization or another for the Community Partner Award!
- Faculty and staff: Have you or your students worked with a particularly outstanding community organization that has been a true co-educator? Consider nominating them!
Call for Volunteers
Faculty, staff, graduate students, community partners, and alumni are invited to serve as volunteers at URES 2026. This celebration of students’ scholarly work is a meaningful opportunity to engage with our Loyola students in the context of the community-based learning work and research projects with which the students have worked over the past year. Volunteers will help foster a learning-centered approach, by providing opportunities for student presenters to explain their work.
