School of ED Talks
Started in spring 2019, these TED-inspired talks feature SOE faculty presenting provocative ideas worth sharing. Each presenter offers a glimpse into a topic area that is of special importance to them and their work. Current students, prospective students, alumni, and our Loyola community are invited to engage on topics ranging from the value of education in a democracy to tailoring education to meet the needs of culturally, linguistically, and economically diverse learners. The Wozniak Lecture Series
Dr. John Wozniak joined the faculty of Loyola University Chicago in 1950. One year later, he was made acting chair of the Department of Education. He served for 18 years in that capacity until the founding of the School of Education in 1969, when he became dean, a position he held for 10 years. John was a remarkable educator, scholar, mentor, colleague, and friend to all those passing through the School of Education. Dr. Wozniak retired in 1984 and remained active in the School of Education alumni events until his death in 2013. Read more
Revising Illinois' Social Science Standards
The Illinois State Board of Education is in the process of revising its social science standards to support more culturally responsive learning experience for our students.
