Grant Hobbs
Graduate Student Academic Affairs Coordinator
Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Grant originally moved to Chicago for graduate school... but liked it so much that he decided to stay! Grant found his way to Loyola after a brief stint as a substitute teacher, an experience that cemented his desire to support the important social justice mission that educators carry out every day. Grant is also a published historian of the medieval Mediterranean, and his work primarily focuses on constructing ethnicity and examining everyday life. In his free time, Grant is a jazz pianist, avid traveler, and Wikipedia surfer. He and his partner are new parents to their first (feline) child.
