General Info
The following tools are designed to assist student leaders with planning for their year.
Student Leader Meetings: Held each Fall, representatives from each active student organization are asked to meet with Administration to discuss expectations, rules, regulations and budgetary concerns.
Student Activities Fair: Held each Fall, this event is the threshold opportunity for all students to learn about the active student group offering at the law school for that academic year. Registered student groups must request a table so that adequate table space can be provided for all student groups.
LUCommunity: All School of Law student organizations are required to have an active portal within the university's LUCommunity platform. Once a law student organization is registered, LUCommunity allows student leaders within the organization to manage their roster, store documents, host elections, request and create events/activities, make funding and purchasing requests for programs, submit external speaker requests and agreements, market opportunities, and more.
In order to be considered in good standing for an academic year, a law student organization must timely:
- Attend the student leaders workshop at the beginning of the school year
- Register on LUCommunity
- Update their Constitution/Bylaws
- Secure a Faculty Advisor
- Submit a Strategic Plan for the year
- Attend the Law Student Activities Fairs
- Update the organization’s web presence
- Attend Club Congress Meetings throughout the year (student leader meetings hosted by the Student Bar Association)
Working with the Alumni Association Office: If your organization's initiatives require alumni information, please contact the Alumni Relations office at lawalumni@luc.edu.
Offering Continuing Legal Education Credit (CLE): If your group plans to hold a speaker event that meets the content requirements of the Illinois Minimum Continuing Legal Education Board, www.mcleboard.org, and you wish to invite attorneys to your program, please contact Kristin Finn at LoyolaLawCLE@luc.edu.
