Program Director Message
I feel very “honored” and privileged to be the director of Loyola’s Business Honors program. As the director of Business Honors, I get to work with some of the most impressive young people imaginable. Our students are Honors students—they are personally motivated and academically engaged high-achievers in the classroom. Our students are Business students—they are entrepreneurially spirited and professionally prepared to be leaders in the business world. And our students care—they are socially responsible people looking to use their skills, abilities, ethics, and opportunities to help others. I am proud to be a part of their—our students’—Business Honors program.
At the same time, I also feel obligated and responsible for providing our Business Honors students with a program and education deserving of their choice to attend Loyola University Chicago, study in the Quinlan School of Business, and join our Business Honors program. I have no doubt that our Business Honors students could have instead chosen to attend one of many other outstanding universities with an outstanding business school and outstanding programs. They chose us—our Business Honors program here in the Quinlan School of Business here at Loyola University Chicago. I appreciate them for that. I take their decision seriously. And I think they chose well.
To be sure, we are an excellent program. We are an Honors program—we provide a rigorous and enriching academic experience for our students. We are a Business Honors program—we provide professional development, networking, leadership, and experiential learning opportunities for our students. And we care about our students—we provide a supportive personal and professional community of mentors (students, alumni, faculty, and beyond) for our students. I am confident that our students are also proud to be a part of our Business Honors program. That is certainly my job and number one focus as Business Honors director.
If you are looking for both a rigorous and enriching academic program to experience as well as a supportive personal and professional community to join while studying business in college, we hope you choose our Business Honors program here in the Quinlan School of Business here at Loyola University Chicago. We would be excited and “honored’ to have you. We believe you will have chosen well. And we will do our best to make you proud.
