Course Title: Multidisciplinary Outpatient Oncology

Periods Offered: Available Monthly with approval from Elective Supervisor
Prerequisite: Completion of Medicine or Surgery Clerkship.
Special Note: Available to M4 students for two- or four-week rotation.
Description: A two- or four-week outpatient elective in which students   participate in a multidisciplinary approach to the care of patients with head and neck, renal, lung, breast, colorectal and melanoma cancers. Oncology evaluation includes only outpatient care. The elective includes description in diagnosis, treatment, and follow up of medical oncology patients and chemotherapy. Follow up with day hospital, nurse, genetic counselors, psychiatry, pharmacy, and community service.
Method of Evaluation:
  1. Evaluation of consultation.
  2. Attendance and participation in conferences and clinics.
  3. Case presentations
  4. Instructors' evaluation of clinical performance.

    This course is graded Honors/High Pass/Pass/Fail.
