Fernando Henrique Cardoso da Silva

Fernando Henrique Cardoso da Silva is a PhD candidate in Theology, specializing in New Testament and Early Christianity at Loyola University Chicago. He earned his Licentiate in Biblical Sciences and Archaeology at the Studium Biblicum Franciscanum in Jerusalem, a B.A. in Theology at the University of Navarra, and a B.A. in Philosophy at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. In his licentiate thesis, he examined intertextuality in the Johannine writings. Originally from Brazil, he brings an international perspective to his academic work. His vocation as a diocesan priest of the Archdiocese of Rio de Janeiro also enriches his scholarly engagement with Scripture.

Research Interests

Gospel of John, the Johannine Epistles, early Christian identity, and intertextual methods in biblical exegesis.
