Ready to work with us?

To initiate a project request with UMC, please submit the UMC Request Form. A member of our staff will reach out to you to discuss your request.

How does UMC decide which projects to take on and which to decline?

UMC balances workload against multiple priorities and available resources. We try not to outright reject projects but rather align the type of request with the appropriate resource(s) to handle production and fulfillment.

UMC’s capacity and timeliness will vary with the number of planned priority projects and other unexpected projects already in the production queue. The scope and specs of the request are also factors. We can adjust our resources (staff and freelance) to meet demand and expectations as best as possible with preference given to planned and priority initiatives first. Because capacity is not limitless, sometimes other priorities have to be made. The best way to avoid this situation is to proactively plan for these needs as part of annual planning or to utilize self-serve templates.

How much lead time is needed for projects?

UMC has defined ‘ad hoc’ projects as those that are initiated within two months of the final material due date. Planned projects are those that are initiated two or months in advance of the final material due date. In an effort to better forecast workload capacity and minimize the total number of ad hoc projects in a given fiscal year, we ask that we be given a lead time of two or more months whenever possible.

How many rounds of edits per project?

This is best determined between the Campus Partner and a member of UMC's Project Management Team to establish timelines, specifications, creative elements (e.g. copy), and handle reviews and client fulfillment.
The default scope for a typical project would normally be three total reviews with two rounds of feedback/revisions, e.g.,
Review 1 > Initial Feedback > Revisions
Review 2 > Minor Feedback > Revisions
Review 3 > Final Approval > File Release
This can be adjusted as necessary based on the agreed-upon project scope and deliverables in the initial Input and/or Kick-Off Meeting(s).
