Chicago Veterans provides resources for transitioning to civilian life, employment resources, and social networking opportunities.
Disabled American Veterans has employment assistance and other outreach events. They also help veterans gather evidence for their disability claim, and help with the filing process. They are not affiliated with the Veteran’s Administration and their primary mission is to help veterans.
Dog Tag Fellowship Program equips veterans, military spouses, and caregivers with the tools and education to build resilience, find renewed purpose, and forge community beyond the military. Dog Tag provides a bridge from military service to the civilian world and acts as a catalyst for finding direction and moving forward.

The Fisher House is a network of homes offered to families of military members and veterans when the loved one is receiving medical attention. Homes are available near most military medical facilities.
The local Logan-Avondale VFW #2978 is one of the largest congressionally charted VSO in the country. This organization provides similar services to veterans and active-duty individuals that the DAV does. Membership is limited to veterans who are either currently serving or honorably discharged but has a program for inclusion of family members or descendants of veterans.
National Coalition for Homeless Veterans is the resource and technical assistance center for a national network of community-based service providers and local, state, and federal agencies that provide housing, employment services, case management, legal aid, and other supportive services to thousands of veterans experiencing or at-risk of homelessness each year.
VA VITAL is a student veteran outreach program based out of Jesse Brown VA hospital that focuses on helping veterans maximize their needs within the VA's healthcare system. They are frequently on campus to help students one on one navigate the VHA and VBA, community, and university services.
