Provost meets with dean of each academic unit to review initial program designations and adjusts designations as needed
Initial program designations (continue, modify, sunset) are shared with academic units; for programs designated as modify or sunset, a summary of comments is also provided
Any program designated as modify or sunset wishing to appeal their designation begins appeal process

Program-level appeals are submitted through their dean’s office to the Provost
Appeals are considered by Provost and faculty workgroup
Provost makes final designations for all programs and communicates these designations with the university

Any program designated for modification begins creating program modification proposal; guidelines for modification as well as ongoing support provided by Provost’s Office
Any program designated for sunset is brought to President and Board of Trustees for final approval
Any program that is sunset begins full teach-out of all students enrolled in the program and stops admitting students to the program
November 2026
For programs designated as modify, modification proposals are due to the Provost
Modifications implemented according to the individual proposals
