OFFICE OF THE DEAN OF STUDENTS AREA

The Office of the Dean of Students (ODOS) is led by the Assistant Vice President & Dean of Students, Dr. Will Rodriguez. Administrative Assistant, Jo Anne Walsh supervises the Office of the Vice President student assistants and provides invaluable support to Dr. Rodriguez and both core teams in the ODOS.

Will Rodriguez, Ph.D.

Assistant Vice President & Dean of Students (He/Him)

Will joined Loyola in 2017 as the Assistant Vice President & Dean of Students in the Division of Student Development. In this role, Will leads the Office of the Dean of Students area which is comprised of the Student Outreach & Support Team and the Student Rights, Responsibilities & Conflict Resolution Team. A few of the primary responsibilities under Will’s purview include serving as a core member of the Behavioral Concerns Team, the Threat Assessment Team, leading the Student Response Team, and serving as one of the advisors for the Student Government of Loyola Chicago. In his role, Will focuses on crisis management, student advocacy, student success, diversity and inclusion, and policy development. Prior to joining Loyola, Will was the Associate Dean of Students and Ombudsperson at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Will is also an alum of the Higher Education doctorate program at Loyola Chicago. In his free time, Will enjoys spending time with his family, kayaking, biking, or rehabbing his home.

Jo Anne Walsh, B.A.

Administrative Assistant (She/Her)

Fresh from the University of Iowa, Jo Anne joined advertising giant Young & Rubicam where she sharpened her advertising skills until joining Scholastic Inc. as Midwest Marketing Director. Jo Anne worked with the likes of Hallmark and SC Johnson developing and implementing quality “in-classroom” marketing programs. Ten years later, Jo Anne was wooed into joining the family business centered in real estate, and became an administrator and real estate agent. Exposure to quality education models via her children’s schools led Jo Anne to leave the real estate business and find a position in education at Loyola's Division of Student Development. As she rides into the sunset of her career, Jo Anne enjoys being in a position where she can assist the quality work being done with and for our students.
