Student Organization Re-Registration

What Is Re‑Registration?

Stay active. Stay recognized. Start early.

All student organizations at Loyola University Chicago must complete re‑registration each year to maintain access to campus resources, funding, and official recognition by the Center for Student Engagement (CSE).

Re‑registration opens each spring semester and should be completed before the start of the fall semester.

Re‑registration is the annual process required for all Student Organizations at Loyola University Chicago. It ensures:

  • Alignment with University policies
  • Leadership by current Loyola students
  • Up‑to‑date information on file
  • Official recognition by the Center for Student Engagement (CSE)—which is required to operate as an organization

Without this recognition, organizations may not host events, reserve space, or access campus resources.

Steps to Re‑Register

Re‑registration opens in the spring semester and must be completed before the start of the fall semester to maintain active status.

Here’s what to do:

  1. Log in to LUCommunity with your Loyola credentials
  2. Navigate to "Organization Registration" and click “Register new Student Organization”
  3. Complete all required sections:
    • Update membership information, including the e-board
    • Upload your updated constitution using the required constitution template here
    • Review policies, including the Student Organization Handbook and the Community Standards
    • Ensure membership of your organization is open to all LUC students
  4. Advisor Role & Approval
    • Your advisor must accept their role and approve submitted re-registration materials in LUCommunity as part of the CSE review process
    • Start this step early—your advisor’s approval is required before your re-registration can be approved by CSE
    • Communicate with your advisor in advance to ensure they’re committed to continuing and understand their role in re‑registration
  5. Pay attention to further information and communication from CSE regarding required trainings

Start the re‑registration process as soon as it opens in spring so your advisor has time to complete their steps before the fall deadline.

What Happens If You Don’t Re-Register?

If re‑registration isn’t completed:

  • You cannot reserve rooms, table, or hold events on campus
  • Funding will be frozen or revoked
  • You lose access to recruitment and promotional opportunities
  • Participate in official University events (like Engagement Fairs and Student Organizations Award Ceremony)
  • Your organization status may become inactive or deactivated

Please note that:

  • Operating as a student organization without official recognition or approval from the Center for Student Engagement is strictly prohibited. This includes hosting meetings, promoting your group, or using the Loyola name in any capacity.
  • Missing re-registration for two consecutive years will be required to apply as new organizations.

Re-registering now avoids any disruption once the academic year begins!
