Frequently Asked Questions
I’ve taken some of the science courses, but not all. Can I still do the program?
Usually, no. If students have already taken significant number of the courses listed in our program, they are not eligible to participate in our program, which is designed to support career changers that have not taken the prerequisites needed for health professional school.
I’ve taken the classes before, but my GPA is too low to apply to my health professional school. Will this program help me raise my GPA?
Our program is designed for students who have never taken the science courses needed for pre-health programs before, so students who have already taken the classes necessary would not be eligible.
When can I start the Post-baccalaureate program?
Students can start in Summer or Fall terms. Summer terms at Loyola typically start mid-May, and Fall terms start late August. You can view the full academic calendar here. We do not accept applications for Spring admission due to course schedules.
How do I apply to the post-baccalaureate program?
Information on how to apply, including a link to the application, is located here. You will need to submit all transcripts from all institutions attended.
When are the classes? Do I take general undergraduate classes?
The classes are offered typically Monday – Friday, 8 am – 6 pm. Students take general undergraduate courses with other undergraduate students.
Is there a required number of classes I have to take each semester?
Students are able to take the number of classes that works best for them. Some students will choose to move through the program as fast as they can, and others will choose to take just one course at a time.
