Have a quick question for an academic advisor? First and Second Year Advising (FSYA) is happy to offer Express Advising (EA) to our first- and second-year students! Please be sure to fully read through the following information on this page before you come to or log into Express Advising.
Spring 2026 Regular Express Advising Hours (last day for Spring is Friday, May 1)
- Monday – 10:00am-12:00pm
- Tuesday – 10:00am-12:00pm
- Wednesday – 2:00pm-4:00pm
- Thursday – 2:00pm-4:00pm
- Friday - 10:00am-12:00pm
Special Express Advising Hours
- Monday, April 13 – 9:00am-4:00pm - Fall Registration
- Tuesday, April 14 – 9:00am-4:00pm - Fall Registration
- Wednesday, April 15 – 9:00am-5:30pm - Fall Registration
- Thursday, April 16 – 9:00am-5:30pm - Fall Registration
- Friday, April 17 – 9:00am-4:00pm - Fall Registration
- No Express Advising - Wednesday, April 29
- No Express Advising - Thursday, April 30
You can also come to our office in Sullivan Suite 260 for in-person Express Advising!

What is Express Advising (EA)?
- Opportunity to ask quick registration questions (10-15 minutes max),
- Online Live-Chat or in-person meeting (Sullivan 260) with an FSYA academic advisor,
- General advising appointments are not available during special EA hours.
What is Express Advising for?
- Enrolling for a course with unexpected errors / needs an override (not for a closed course)
- Finding an alternative course if a required course is full/closed
- Adding a repeat course
- Withdrawing from a course - only applies to first-semester freshmen
What needs to be a scheduled appointment (not for Express Advising)?
- Planning for a new major or minor
- Academic 4-year planning
- Getting approval for:
- Registering over 18 credits
- Study abroad
- Taking courses elsewhere
- SCPS classes
- Any question that needs a more in-depth response or conversation
Express Advising Expectations
- Come prepared! | Be sure to have already looked up class sections you want to take and have the 4-digit class number. Academic advisors will not search for classes for you.
- Be kind! | We’re real humans on the other end of the chat. Please be respectful.
- Know your enrollment appointment time! | We can’t help you with registration until you’re able to register.
