Retirement Plan Updates: New Roth Contributions Option & Required Roth Catch Up Contributions for 2026
As shared this past fall, the Loyola University Chicago Retirement Plan now offers an additional way to save for retirement: Roth contributions. You can now log in to your Transamerica account at any time to elect Roth contributions, which allow you to save after tax dollars today and potentially enjoy tax free withdrawals in retirement. Additionally, beginning 2026, federal law under the SECURE Act 2.0 requires that certain employees make their catch up contributions as Roth (after tax) contributions.
