Day one of our trip to L.A. was filled with laughs, bonding, and slight stress getting through security at the airport. Once we got through, coffees in hand, we boarded our plane for the four hour trip! Stepping into the warm California sun instantly brought me so much joy, especially after leaving the 30-degree Chicago weather. I was so excited to explore the city and enjoy the adventures after a stressful midterm season. Our hotel was gorgeous, and we ended up staying in after a long day of travel. We all ended the night together eating a delicious catered dinner and decided what our plans for the week should be.

The next day, I woke up early to enjoy a slow morning and eat breakfast with my peers. With the day heating up, a few of us decided to head to Ideology Coffee, where I got a refreshing iced tea! For lunch, everyone headed to Sol Agave to fuel up for our excursion to the Griffith Observatory. Our walking tour was super fun, and our tour guide, Estevan, told us all about the planets and stars. The excursion ended with a planetarium show explaining how life outside of earth is more complicated than expected.

While some of us headed to Santa Monica Pier, a few headed to downtown L.A. to try the iconic In-N-Out chain. It was a must-do on my list, and was definitely worth the wait! Afterwards, we headed to the Glendale Mall, where we ended the night by window shopping and getting to know each other more. Even though it’s day two of the trip, I still can’t believe we are here! I am so thankful I am here with Loyola, and am excited to see what Los Angeles has in store for us next.
