We have reached the equator of our Ramble trip. Our time in the sunny LA has been nothing but productive, exciting, and unforgettable! Today we had a free afternoon before heading to Universal Music Group - Interscope Records and Capitol Records.
So, we decided to explore more of the city during our break. I started off my morning by getting a delicious breakfast at our hotel and then getting together with our group to head out to Community Goods coffee shop. I got the viral Einspänner Latte, and the rest of the group got their matcha. While enjoying our delicious drinks, we walked over to the Grove shopping center where we did some damage to our bank accounts, but it was so worth it. The area was very lovely and reminded me of a European town.
After returning back to our hotel, we got ready to head out to Interscope and Capitol Records. We had the honor of meeting alumni Nathan Ledesma, who is the Vice President, Strategy and Label Relations at Interscope Capitol. It was a very pleasant and memorable visit as we got to talk about Nathan’s career journey — from a tax consultant at Deloitte to a position that allows him to be creative and do what he truly loves. The main takeaway from our conversation was the importance of commitment to your work, passion, and confidence. Nathan highlighted that, “Whatever you do, you have to commit 100% to achieve the highest results.”
We finished the day strong with an alumni reception at the Jonathan Club. We had the privilege to meet our wonderful alumni and expand our network. Special thanks to John and Patricia O’Keefe for hosting this event. It was a truly amazing experience to hear different stories and learn something new from all of the alumni. While speaking to the people, I couldn’t help but notice how well the conversations were flowing around the room, followed by laughter and the exchange of contacts for future connections. This reception was definitely the highlight of my trip, and I am happy that all of the students had a chance to have their moment and one-on-one conversations with the alumni.
