Our networking trip officially began with a full day of meetings that really set the tone for the rest of the experience. As a second-year Business Administration student, I was excited to ask questions that reflected my interest and goals.

We started with a lunch meeting in Culver City with alumni Jagger Kroener and Owen McAndrews. Both were former Loyola men’s volleyball players who won two NCAA Division I championships, which immediately stood out to me. It was inspiring to see how they carried the discipline and teamwork into their professional careers.

Jagger is a top real estate agent in Manhattan Beach and was even featured in the Wall Street Journal for top 500 real estate agents in California. He talked about building relationships and maintaining them for future opportunities. We learned more about Owen's role as a solutions engineer at SproutSocial, and he shared with us the importance of patience in finding the right role for us.

Later in the day, we had dinner in Redondo Beach with Wayne Kimball Jr. He currently works at Google in growth strategy and market acceleration. He spoke about being strategic, taking smart risks, and always thinking a few steps ahead. He said to take away three things: exploring, discovering, and becoming.

Overall, the day reminded me that success is built over time through relationships, discipline, and taking risk.
