Legacy LLC
About LEGACY
Legacy LLC is a residential community designed for students participating in QUEST, LUCES, and STARS mentorship programs who seek an identity-affirming, community-rooted residential experience grounded in mentorship. Legacy LLC nurtures belonging from the moment students arrive at Loyola and provide a space where they can root themselves, expand, dream, breathe, and ground themselves in practices that support their well-being during their transition into college. It is intentionally designed as a haven, a place of safety and connection where students can grow academically, personally, and socially.
Paired with mentorship networks, shared living experiences, and guided community-building, students are grounded in practices of community care, learning what it means to support one another through transition, identity exploration, and belonging. Through this foundation, students develop the confidence and grounding to engage in radical imagination and to envision what becomes possible when they feel supported, affirmed, and connected.
LLC Outcomes
By the end of the academic year, students participating in Legacy will be able to:
- Develop a strong sense of belonging by forming meaningful connections with peers, mentors, and CSIB staff through shared living, community practices, and intentional programming.
- Explore and affirm their personal identities and values, developing a sense of personal grounding as they navigate their first year and engage in identity-affirming mentorship.
- Build confidence in navigating university resources by connecting with campus support systems, advisors, faculty, and mentorship networks while addressing imposter syndrome and barriers that mentees often face.
- Develop essential college life skills including help-seeking practices, time management strategies, self-advocacy, and balancing academic and personal responsibilities.
- Practice community-rooted leadership and community care by identifying their strengths, contributing to a supportive residential environment, and applying leadership lessons from UNIV 101 and LEAD to their personal, academic, and community life, all while cultivating the imagination and agency needed to shape their future paths.
